Born in Dunedin, New Zealand.

Just a few weeks old, my father played Lucia Popp's Mozart Arias for me and sealed my fate.

After 18 years of liking opera in a background kind of way, I saw the light in 2003, became a true and besotted fanatic, and have never looked back.

The blog sprang to life shortly afterwards and continues much as it began — an extended love letter to a wondrous art form.

Now living in Sydney, Australia, home to the world's most recognisable opera house. I think what goes on inside it is much more interesting than the iconic exterior.
