3 davids, 2 dicksons/dixons, and 1 PEPE? i'd definitely sign up if it weren't for this pesky 'flying over the pacific' business.

apropos of nothing, i just wanted to tell you how much i love dunedin! when i visited your city a few years ago, it was unseasonably warm and beautiful, the rhododendrons were in full force, and everyone was out in summer wear. The most wonderful moment of that visit was in the botanical garden, when several dozen bagpipers gathered down the hill in a grassy open space. Their sound filled the hillside and fit the day perfectly.

Actually, the conductor is a David as well so that makes four of 'em..

Congratulations on your timing, I'm glad you managed to see Dunedin in its Sunday best!

Sarah, you're not seriously planning to miss a St. Matthew are you? Next to Tristan und Isolde it's the best payoff in all of written music. Obviously the music gods are trying to tell you something by not taking those tickets off your hands. There will always be another Figaro. Speaking of which, you mentioned the very fabulous Veronique Gens recently. If you get the chance, listen to her cd of French songs.
