Late additions
A copy of the little OA Summer Season pamphlet came in the mail today. I almost ignored it, but I'm pleased I didn't, as it contains a few happy little pieces of casting information not included in the original subscription booklet. So we now know that:
Dominica Matthews will sing Lola in Cavalleria Rusticana.
Emma Pearson will sing the Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte until February 11th, when Lorina Gore takes over. Also in Die Zauberflöte, Amy Wilkinson sings Papagena.
And, best of all, my favourite chorister, the fabulous Jane Parkin sings Kate Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly. Yes, it's a tiny role, but it's a start, and I'm just happy to see her name in the programme.
Oh, and the Elijah Moshinsky production of Werther has a new fashion sponsor: Leona Edmiston instead of The Strand.
do we know who is singing papagena? im thinking taryn fiebig as she sung it back in 2006?

And we discovered who the soloists for Rossini's Stabat Mater in the Radiance Concert are. Rosamund Illing, Milijana Nikolic, Rosaria La Spina and John Wegner. Three out of four for you Sarah is not too bad and I imagine these two ladies together will be fantastic.
The brochure made me start pondering who they are going to find to replace Richard Hickox for all the 2009 engagements and at such short notice as well!!
I was listening to my Chandos Rusalka today in the car on the way to work and it suddenly struck me about the reality of his tragic death and the enormity of the loss. His and Cheryl Barker's autographs inside the box are now particularly special for me. He was so gracious when I met him.

Emma Pearson is fantastic. About time she got some real work here in Australia, she's got total star quality.
