Dear City Recital Hall,
Your new ticketing system isn't as pretty as the old one. The functionality is a little on the clunky side. It's prone to freeze (hint: Firefox good, Chrome bad). But it allows me to choose my own seat and even to see an image of the view from that seat. So for that, you have my gratitude and undying respect. Let's hope some of this country's other performing arts organisations will follow your example.

And actually, while I'm at it,
Dear Australian Chamber Orchestra,
I don't love your posters. Or the titles you give to your concerts. But there's one thing about you I definitely do love. Thank you for offering under 30s tickets which are 1. a genuinely reasonable price and 2. available in all seating reserves. Let's hope some of this country's other performing arts organisations will follow your example, too.

What do you think the concert with Dawn Upshaw should have been called if not 'DAWN UPSHAW'?

Fair point! It was a throwaway remark really, and doesn't much apply to this year's titles. I just have a personal aversion to abstract noun titles. I realise the ACO is far the from the only culprit, though. And that they're probably hard to avoid.
