sarah crane is now playing pamina in melbourne, with amy wilkinson now singing the first lady. i wonder who is papagena? maybe taryn fiebig who did it back in 2006?

How interesting! I'd love to hear her Pamina. But I don't think Taryn will be Papagena, she's about to start yet another season (in NZ this time) of My Fair Lady - presumably the reason she was replaced in Werther.

Papagena will be Annabelle Chaffey, who covered Amy Wilkinson in the Sydney season. By all accounts she is excellent and has performed quite a few small roles for the company in the past. A new star in the making?

I saw the performance with Henry Choo and Hye Seoung Kwon as well and agree with your thoughts on Mr. Choo. However, despite the angelic voice and the impeccable rendition, I found Ms. Kwon's accents did impede her acting when her audience cannot understand a word she said. I had a hard time following her lines and for me, it unfortunately at times destroyed the whole fantasy...
