I don't understand ... what is this production about? (Sorry, showing I'm an idiot, I'm sure ....)

I'm not entirely sure either, but I believe it's set during and immediately after a funeral. I don't know how much of a plot the director attempted to impose - it might make more sense if one sees the whole thing, which I haven't. I posted this one because I love the aria and this is the only clip of Susan Gritton singing it.
